Scientific and educational activities such as clinical practice guideline workshops, training courses and initiatives, pan-European surveys and the main scientific sessions make the ESC annual congress the largest medical meeting in Europe. Held in Vienna, this year’s ESC Congress was attended by many cardiology professionals from across Europe.
Bayer HealthCare took part in the congress with a full cardiovascular (CV) portfolio booth that included Adalat, CardioAspirin, Pritor, Glucobay, Ventavis and Rivaroxaban.
On this occasion Adalat distributed copies of many of the published ACTION subanalyses, together with the most recent ACTION subanalyses slide kit.
The ESC congress also saw the presentation of new pocket guidelines on hypertension. The 2007 ESH/ESC Guidelines focus on preventing not only CV events but also CV disease. The guidelines make reference to targeting early stages in the cardiovascular disease (CVD) continuum to maximise protection against target organ damage.
The new ESH/ESC hypertension treatment guidelines strongly echo the messages that have been and continue to be communicated by Adalat.
