Adalat® - Targeting multiple risk factors to optimise cardiovascular care

The 16th World Congress of Cardiology in Buenos Aires, Argentina was an ideal scientific forum to promote and discuss a very topical clinical study: TALENT.

A capacity audience of almost 400 delegates attended the Bayer Schering Pharma satellite symposium where they learned about the importance of combining CV risk management strategies to ensure more individuals are protected from CVD.

Peter Meredith and Giuseppe Mancia presented a compelling story.

  1. Adalat® (nifedipine) is a unique molecule providing early, effective and consistent 24-hour blood-pressure control across a wide group of hypertensive individuals.
  2. The benefits of Adalat®, which extend to a large proportion of patients including those with additional CV risk factors, can not be claimed by other nifedipine molecules.

The management of hypertension is changing – together with the recent findings of the ACCOMPLISH trial there is strong support for the use of strategies using multiple antihypertensive treatments. Giuseppe Mancia explained how the recently started TALENT trial will add to the evidence that Adalat® is an ideal treatment partner for first-line combination therapy in high-risk individuals.
