Adalat® (nifedipine GITS) is one of the most well-researched antihypertensive agents. Recent trials have focused on its effects beyond blood-pressure reduction:
INSIGHT was the first double-blind, prospective, randomised study to investigate the clinical outcome of treatment with Adalat® once-daily vs conventional treatment in hypertensive patients with additional cardiovascular risk factors.
In ENCORE, the primary objectives were to assess the effects of treatment with Adalat® and/or cerivastatin on coronary endothelial dysfunction, coronary morphology and the progression of coronary atherosclerosis.
